A collision involving an unmarked Victoria Police van and a cyclist Oct 26th is being reviewed by the Professional Standards Section (PSS) and the Office of the Police Complaints Commissioner as well.
The accident at the intersection of Chatham and Government Streets resulted in a cyclist being taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries. According to VicPd the level of injury met the requirements for a Professional Standards Section review under section 89 of the Police Act.
To date it has not been revealed if the van hit the cyclist, or if it was the other way around. Both reviews will see if it can be determined if the member was at fault.
