Hillside Shopping Centre is under 'Can'struction this weekend.
From ice cream cones to monsters, the 5th annual Canstruction Victoria has volunteer teams use imagination and inqenuity to turn tin cans -- into works of art.
Christopher Mavriokos is the founder and Executive Director of The Dahlia Society, an international organization he created 21 years ago after losing his mother to breast cancer.
Canstruction is one of the worldwide events the local philanthropist created to help local charities.
"The theme this year is 'Around the World'. A dozen teams will spend 12 hours Friday and Saturday building structures up to 10 feet tall. They'll be on display until May 14th, and people can vote on their favorite canned art, with a minimum $5 or 3 can donation."
41-thousand cans are being donated for the build on Friday.
In 2017, The Dahlia Society raised over 23-thousand dollars to support The Mustard Seed.
