Vancouver Island Integrated Major Crime Unit (VIIMCU)and the BC Coroners Service now say the body recovered at SJ Willis School is 25-year-old Euarchol Wanichpan.
Wanichpan was last seen on July 30 and reported missing to the Saanich Police Department on July 31.
Staff Sergeant Annie Linteau says Given the suspicious nature of Euarchol’s disappearance, the investigation had been turned over to VIIMCU. "Her disappearance was suspicious in nature and we do believe her death was suspicious in nature. Foul play is suspected and police are seeking the public’s assistance in determining Euarchol’s movements between the time she was last seen and her body was discovered."
This investigation is in its early stages and it is unclear at this time what circumstances played a role in her death.
While investigators currently do not believe the general public is at risk, they continue to gather evidence and pursue a number of investigative leads.
