Motorists cyclists and pedestrians will notice plenty of changes on Pandora Avenue in the coming weeks.
Construction is nearly complete that means big changes are coming in the next phase of Victoria's Downtown cycling lanes.
"All of the traffic lights will change. We're trying to highlight the important areas for people walking; biking and driving there will changes when these bike lanes open on Pandora, we want to encourage everyone to take a little extra time pay a little bit of extra attention."
Mayor Helps says workers are putting the finishing touches on signage; painting and traffic signals which she says will be very different.
"All the intersections along Pandora street will have lights timed for cycling and lights timed for cars."
Victoria’s first protected bike lanes along Pandora Avenue from Cook Street to Wharf Street are scheduled to open early next month.
The project includes a two-way, physically protected bike lane with new traffic signals for bikes with a combination of on-street parking spaces, bollards, and paint used to separate the bike lanes from vehicle traffic.
