A pair of bear cubs that became trapped in a large dumpster in Sooke were rescued by BC Conservation Officers.
The cubs anxious mother looked on from a distance as officers drugged the cubs to ensure they would be safe to handle, and removed them from the garbage bin.
The cubs were tagged, and loaded onto a blanket and deposited in a nearby ravine where their mother came over and waited for them to wake up.
Conservation officials say it's a good reminder that bears are still out there looking for food, and remind homeowners to keep their garbage and other attractants secured.
Conservation has also been getting calls about bears from Colwood and Langford.
