BC Health officials have released the latest COVID19 numbers for the province, showing 12 new cases. And once again, no new deaths for the 5th day in a row.
That brings BC's total to 2,680 cases -- with 167 people who have died of the virus.
The number of active cases today is 185, with 12 in hospital and 4 in ICU. The rest are recovering at home in isolation.
There is one new outbreak at health care facility in Vancouver. In total, 5 long-term care or assisted-living facilities continue to deal with active outbreaks.
There are no new community outbreaks -- the 6 that remain active are receiving support.
Meantime 2,328 people who tested positive have recovered, that's 86.9%.
Vancouver Island hasn't had a new case to report in over 4 weeks. Still, health officials are reminding us all to remain vigilant -- including those returning home from university elsewhere in Canada.
They advise returning students to monitor yourself closely for symptoms, as some other parts of Canada are experiencing community clusters and spread.
