The BC Coroner's service has confirmed a leg and foot found near Jordan River in early December belonged to a Washington state man who went missing in September.
DNA analysis matched those of Stanley K. Okumoto of East Bremerton, in Kitsap County, Washington.
The victim was 79 when he went missing on Sept. 19, 2017. His vehicle was found the next day in Clallam County, about 240 kilometres away. When his remains were found in Clallam County two months later, his remains were missing the left leg and foot.
On December 7th a man walking his dog at Jordan River found the missing body parts, with the foot still inside a black shoe.
It's unknown how the parts made it north to Vancouver Island. The BC Coroners Service says it's investigation is ongoing.
