A design charette, scheduled for tomorrow night at the Royal B.C. Museum, facilitated by Cascadia Architects, will reimagine the look and feel of Douglas Street near Beacon Hill Park.
A group of about 30 residents, consultants and other stakeholders will gather for the charette, which will focus on a couple of areas according to Marg Gardiner, President of the James Bay Neighbourhood Association. "We have a huge tourist base that comes in, but approaching Beacon Hill Park by foot isn’t very friendly,” Gardiner said.
She says James Bay will be going through the cities local area planning process in the next couple of years and she hopes these ideas will become part of any future development plans.
The charette is being facilitated by Cascadia Architects. They'll take feedback from tomorrow's workshop and a questionnaire to produce potential renderings of what the area could look like.
