However, if you like your neighbours and want to bring them together, the City of Victoria is offering grants for projects or activities that help create an inviting, vibrant place for people to connect.
The City provides up to $5,000 for place-making projects and up to $1,000 for activities, matching equivalent contributions (including volunteer time and in-kind donations) from applicants. Applications will be taken up to Oct.15th.
Projects that have recently been funded include interpretive signage for the daylighting of a local creek, a bicycle-powered charging station, community garden revitalization, a basketball street party, and seniors yoga.
