An Oak Bay Firefighter had to get "quacking" Friday morning for a potentially life-saving rescue.
Oak Bay Acting Asst. Chief Duane Adsett got his ducks in a row, literally, Friday morning.
The Oak Bay firefighter rescued a family of wayward ducklings who got stuck in a storm drain. "They were just squeaking a little bit Mom was quacking at me."
Adsett says he got a call from a concerned citizen who noticed the trapped ducklings near Cadboro Bay Road and Bee Street. "A lady brought over a little wicker basket and it was just enough to scoop 'em up, I set them on the ground and the ducklings quickly went to Mom and it was good to see."
It was a change of pace for Adsett who normally spends his time saving human lives.
