September is childhood cancer awareness month and each year, Island Kids Cancer Association strives to promote awareness of the challenges faced by kids, youth, and families affected by childhood cancer.
The gold ribbon is an international symbol for childhood cancer and Island Kids Cancer Association (IKCA) encourages our supporters to wear a gold ribbon to help raise awareness. Childhood cancer is the leading cause of death by disease for children under the age of 14. A childhood cancer diagnosis is a unique experience for every family, and each family will need a different network of support. IKCA’s goal is to provide this regardless of each family’s individual situation and journey.
