Scott Walker :: Talk

Host of Eye on the Arts.
Scott is an actor, singer, broadcaster and writer. He was a familiar voice on CBC radio as a news anchor and the host of THE RADIO ONE BUSINESS NETWORK. He also shared his interest in the history of popular music with SCOTT WALKER'S MUSICAL ALMANAC.
He has performed across Canada in productions such as COMPANY, THE KING AND I, THE MUSIC MAN, GUYS AND DOLLS, THE LEGEND OF THE DUMBELLS, OF MICE AND MEN, MAN OF LA MANCHA, LOVE LETTERS, and CLOSER THAN EVER. He was also a co-founder of Reprise Concerts, a Toronto company that introduced the concept of Musicals in Concert to Canada.
Scott first performed on Vancouver Island in COLETTE – THE COLOURS OF LOVE at the Belfry Theatre in 1980. Since moving to Victoria in 2005, Scott has appeared two productions at the Belfry Theatre, URINETOWN: THE MUSICAL and ANYTHING THAT MOVES. He hosts the Royal Tea series for the Victoria Symphony. He is the narrator of SPIDERS ON DRUGS, a video that has become one of the most popular all-time “hits” on YouTube.
Scott co-produced and wrote 150 YEARS IN GOLDEN MOUNTAIN, a pageant celebrating the story of the Chinese in Canada. It was presented at the Royal Theatre in August of 2008, directed by Scott's wife, Anne Wootten.
Scott also created and performs a one-man show, TOO MARVELOUS FOR WORDS, on the life of songwriter Johnny Mercer. One of Mercer's most familiar songs appears on Scott's self-titled Big Band CD, which includes other classics from the Great American Songbook.
