Nine Victoria firefighters managed to stifle an out of control beach fire near Finlayson Point this morning.
Called in just prior to 6 AM, fire crews were greeted by flames climbing up the bank towards the top of the cliff separating the beach from Dallas Road.
After additional resources were called in, Victoria Fire was able to fully extinguish the blaze in about 15 minutes.
Nobody was at the scene when officials arrived, but they are reminding residents beach fires are illegal and can be especially dangerous in these dry conditions.
