VicPD says one of their officers saved a man's life by diving into the water near the Johnson Street Bridge earlier this week.
It happened at around 2:30pm on Tuesday. Police say a distraught man jumped off the bridge into the water below. The man initially was able to tread water, but police say a short time later he became submerged.
Police say the responding officer dove into the water and managed to pull the distressed man to shore on the northwest side of the bridge.
The jumper was taken to hospital with no apparent injuries.
