Startled horse dumps three passengers and collides with car downtown

August 01, 2012 04:41 from

Victoria Police say nobody was seriously injured after an out-of-control horse carriage ejected three passengers and collided with a vehicle this afternoon.

Investigators say the horse was carrying three people on Fisgard when a passing tour bus allegedly bumped the horse, causing it to rear up and toss two of the passengers on to the street.

The stampeding horse then collided with a car on Wharf Street near Fort, launching the third pedestrian out of the carriage in the process.

The horse finally came to a stop near Government and Humboldt. VicPD say they're investigating the circumstances of the initial collision.
