Victoria police were kept busy this past long weekend with the number of calls for assistance up considerably.
From Friday to early this morning the 911 Communications Centre received 750 calls for service. That compares to 200 the Canada Day long weekend.
Acting Police Chief John Ducker says he is thankful for the efforts of his officers and they hope to highlight to the police board, their experiences with the effects of high profile public events this summer.
