Falling tree causes small power outage near Prospect Lake

August 04, 2012 07:14 from

Around 50 homes are without power, just south of Prospect Lake.

The outage was caused by a tree falling across a set of power wires on Viaduct Avenue West, according to BC Hydro. It's causing a bit of a delay for local traffic; currently Viaduct West is down to single-lane, alternating traffic.

Hydro anticipates having power restored by 9 o'clock tonight.
