Driving through Beacon Hill Park will be different as of today -- Victoria has begun a pilot project to restrict traffic flow through the park.
The City will gather feedback over the next three months. If people hate it, they changes are reversible. If it goes over well temporary billboards will be replaced by permanent curbing and multi-use trails with increased green space.
Victoria's Parks Planning and Design Manager Doug Demarzo says the idea is not to stop people from driving into the park, but to restrict drivers from using it as a short cut.
