The BC Centre for Disease Control is confirming that they are waiting on test results to determine if a reported case of E. Coli here on Vancouver Island is linked to the still growing XL Foods beef recall.
The centre says it may not have results from the tests available until tomorrow.
Shannon Marshall with the Vancouver Island Health Authority says they did treat the patient in question, but little other information is currently available.
To date, the Public Health Agency of Canada has linked four confirmed cases in Alberta and one in Newfoundland to the XL Foods recall.
