Attempted Abduction at CFB Comox

August 17, 2012 10:30 from

CFB Comox is on high alert after an attempted abduction of a young girl on the base.

At 4:10 p.m. on August 16, Military Police got a call from a concerned mother who said her daughter had been approached by two men on her bike home from the Glacier Gardens Arena and Recreation Centre.

The two men asked the girl if she had ever been kidnapped before.

The girl was able to get to safety on her bike and report the incident to her mother.

"The vehicle being used by the males is described as a blue cargo-style Chevrolet Astro-Van with windows on the rear doors and panels on the sides," says Captain Scott Goebel with 19 Wing Comox.

The driver is described as around 50 years in age, partially balding and clean shaven with a scar on his left cheek. The passenger was described as blonde with a star on the left side of his neck. He also speaks with an English accent.

If you know anything about the vehicle or the men, you are asked to contact Military Police.

In the meantime, they've asked everyone on the base to keep a look out.
