The Dogwood Initiative should organize a bus tour...and participation should be mandatory...for all the people from Victoria; Saanich; and wherever else in the CRD, who went to Sooke two years ago to rail against the notion of a line of resort cabins on a long, narrow strip of property adjacent to the Juan de Fuca Marine Trail.

Victoria's 150th anniversary commemorative art project unveiled yesterday looks to me like a success.  Something that City Hall got right. 

The phrase "Victoria and First People's Day" does not roll of the tongue particularly easily.  Is that a reason not to change the name of the holiday that Canadians mark late in May every year?
